| Rev. Fr. John Hays |

His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios assigned the Rev. Fr. John Hays as the parish's new priest, effective July 12th, 2011.
Fr. John joins us and the Metropolis of Atlanta from the OCA. He and his Presvytera Ginny and their two sons, Noah and Silas will fullfiling their ministry by serving the Orthodox Christians of West Central Florida.
Fr. John Hays was born and raised in middle Tennessee. In the mid-nineties he relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, to begin a career as a humanities instructor at a small, interdenominational classical-Christian school, where he primarily taught middle and high school students.
It was during this time that Fr. John met and married Presbytera Ginny. It was also during this time that an ongoing spiritual struggle led him to discover the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. Finally, he and Presbytera were received into the Church, subsequently attending St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in New York from 2004 through 2007.
The Hays family began their ministry together by serving several Church communities in Florida and the Carolinas, including the Church in Jacksonville, where they continued to live for several years. Eventually, Metropolitan Jonah of the Orthodox Church in America blessed Fr. John to focus his ministry on serving Metropolitan Alexios of the Greek Archdiocese, who had him assist several parishes in northeast Florida. This pastoral activity culminated in His Eminence’s assigning Fr. John to serve the community of Archangel Michael in Lecanto in July of 2011.
At the time of their relocation to Lecanto, Fr. John and Presbytera Ginny were looking forward to celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary, as well as rejoicing in the blessing of being the proud parents of two sons, Noah and Silas. Glory to God for all things!

THYRANOIXIA
Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Community celebrated the Thyranoixia of the parish's new byzantine style sanctuary on May 22nd and 23rd. His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios officiated.
